  at a circuit assembly the co stopped his talk and asked the attendants to remove a crying baby and his mother .. she go up walked out the back started crying as she was studying she never came back.. saved by the co i say..

  Is the "My Book of Bible Stories" appropriate reading for Little Ones?

  my little boy, aged 4 1/2 loves his bedtime stories, and also loves "jesus stories" as he calls them... .

  now, i have never gotten around to going to a book store and actually buying a childrens bible story book from the shops (yes...i still have a bit of a mental block and some deep seated issues about any religious literature).

  my mom gave my kids a copy of the bible story book, as well as listening to the great teacher (the new soft cover book - think it is called that?

  Pentecostals convert 20% of population in Guatemala. How do they preach?

  the christian science monitor reported today that 20% of the population in guatemala is converting to pentecostalism.

  with a population near 13,000,000,that would mean a membership of 2.6 million people.. how do pentecostals convert so many people?

  what are their preaching methods?.

  it wasn't until my first journey to latin america that i saw that all the exclusiveness the JWs proclaim to have is just lies.
  
  in latin america, everybody uses "jehovah". "jehovah" is also used in most of the spanish translations of the bible. (we were always told, JWs were the only ones who'd use the name of god). on the streets you can find loads of different missionaries advertising god's kingdom. (we were always told, JWs were the only ones advertising god's kingdom). i've met pentecostals and the likes going d2d while we did the same. i met them going to the KH, while they did the same. i always closed the car windows on any traffic light, so they would not place tracts on me... lol..

  Faulty Arguments

  apart from "ad hominem", there are a bunch of other "arguments" that are used widely, but actually don't hold any value.. .

  one i find very often to be used is "tu quoque" (you too!).

  like in "yes, i believe without evidence, but you believe too!"..

  another one is "ad populum": "most people believe in a god, nuff said".
  
  "ad ignorantiam" is probably an all time favourite: "you can't prove god does NOT exist".
  
  add other faulty argument types you observe.

  The Biblical Flood Thoroughly Trashed

  there are many new ones on this board who may not have seen this.

  my old friend alan feurerbacher who has done an unbelievable amount of scholarly research on many subjects must have spent about two or three thousand years researching virtually every aspect of the biblical flood story, and am providing the link to this subject (together with links to other excellent work by him).

  it's long and detailed and definitely not for those who get bored with more than four sentences of information and sound bites.

  COULD YOU HANDLE LIFE ALONE?

  if you mate died suddenly or left you, could you handle life alone?

  would you remain single or get married again?

  i ask this because my brother in law's witness mom just died recently, and we're wondering how his dad is going to handle life alone now.

  if you are honest with one elder, but wont talk about any of your questions with a second elder, you'll be fine. if you are honest to two or more of them, your ass is toast. which might be fine too.

  i've been working preeetty hard today and haven't had a bite to eat the whole day & i still have an hour to go before i go home.. right now i'd love some cheese cake or anything home made.. oooh my tummy is growling..

  ok, so i haven't been posting a lot lately.

  been doing alot of thinking, soul searching, etc.

  also been busy with work, making money, hanging with my new girlfriend, and just enjoying my first christmas season.. .
